About the Research
The "Making the Invisible Visible" (MIV) research study examines how practitioners use generative AI in their work. This practitioner-research study led by Dr Tiffany Gray seeks to understand the real-world impacts of AI adoption on knowledge work, decision-making, and professional practice.
By participating in this research, you contribute to our understanding of how AI tools are transforming work practice and what factors support or hinder effective adoption. Your insights help us develop evidence-based guidance for organisations implementing AI.
Participation is voluntary and will not affect your access to the GEN Ai AT WORK program or any employment decisions. You are free to withdraw at any time without providing a reason.
What Does Participation Involve?
Data Collection Points
Your participation involves completing the following components:
- Three Surveys (T1, T2, T3) — Pre-program, mid-program, and post-program surveys that measure your experience with AI, changes in work practice, and ROI. Each survey takes approximately 20 minutes.
- Optional Pre-Program Interview — A 30-minute conversation via Microsoft Teams to understand your baseline experience with AI and expectations from the program. This is optional and can be scheduled at your convenience.
- Journal Entries — Your reflective journal entries during the program may be included in the research analysis. All entries used in the research will be de-identified and anonymized.
Time Commitment
The total research time commitment is approximately 1–1.5 hours across the duration of the program, spread across the three survey periods. The optional interview adds an additional 30 minutes if you choose to participate.
Data Use
Your responses will be combined with responses from other participants to identify patterns and insights about AI adoption in professional contexts. No individual data will be reported in a way that identifies you personally.
Your Rights
Voluntary Participation
Your participation is entirely voluntary. You may decline to participate or withdraw from the research at any time without providing a reason. Withdrawal will not affect your access to the GEN Ai AT WORK program or any other services.
Data Protection
All data will be de-identified and stored securely. Your name and direct identifiers will be removed from any analysis or reporting. Data will be retained for up to 5 years in accordance with research governance standards.
No Employment Impact
Research participation will not affect your employment status, performance evaluations, program participation, or any other employment-related decisions.
